I want to know the different between undergrad and graduate student mindset, if there are any? I think I am more driven and I am undergrad but I want to know what does it means when people say “graduate student mindset.”

I think it is definitely a matter of being completely focused on studying, learning, making the grades & reaching their specific goals. A grad student doesn’t have time to do much else and is usually very focused on their future career.

Republicans are fond of saying that “Everything Changed on 9/11″ and Democrats have a “Pre 9-11 Mindset” when it comes to issues such as Freedom, the Individual Rights and Torture. If 9/11 changed everything for the Republicans, doesn’t that just mean that whenever there is a crisis, they change their principles? Why would you want to follow a party who’s principles can’t stand up to one major tragedy?

Question by : Has anyone found a replacement to the Isagenix Shake?
I have been drinking the Isagenix Shake (Chocolate) for over a year now, and I love the taste as well as the energy that it gives me. I can’t seem to live without it… but yeesh – the price is a little steep, and no I am not willing to build my “MLM” to help finance it. Has anyone out there found a better or similar tasting/feeling shake?
Isagenix Shake is made of undenatured whey, which I heard was the best kind. I have tried BioChem (that was yucky) and Almased (which is Soy based). I tried Vega, and that was great but even more expensive. I have also tried Hemp shakes… Please help!

My husband bought all the necessary products to start the program, then changed his mind. We’ve got some of that chocolate shake mix, along with everything else, about $ 300 worth of product. I’m trying to sell it all off but no one we know does the program. Let me know if you’d be interested.

Question by Mo: “Typical Libra” …. WHAT?
don’t really know anything about astrology or anything of the like, so I’m not completely for or against it.
This was my response to my friend asking me if I read my horoscope in the back of magazines like she does.
Her response was “you have a typical Libran mindset”
What does that mean?

I wonder when this became the astrology room. Libras are realists and care about real issues and not trivia. To some people this means they never just chill.
That is probably how she interpreted your response, as an inability to lighten up.

Question by Lu: What is a good career field or business opportunity for someone with a criminal record?
I live in California.
About 2 years ago I was arrested for soliciting a prostitute. I have spoken to 2 lawyers about getting my record expunged and both of them said that is not really an option a this time.
The good news is that I am currently employed. about 3 months before I got arrested I signed a 6 year contract with a the military. I got in big trouble after my arrest and I was told that I would be kept on for the remainder of my contract but that my contract will not be renewed. I have about 4 years left on my contract.
I have a BA in History and I was studying to become a teacher but I know that teaching is no longer an option due to my criminal record and the nature of the offense
.
The odds of getting another job like the one I have now are practically 0. Any job requiring a background check will see that I was arrested for soliciting a prostitute and I already know that my criminal record will most likely bar me from any type of state or federal government jobs.
The clock is ticking for me. during my remaining 4 years of employment I want to set myself up to be able to support myself. I was thinking about going back to school… but my odds of getting hired in any traditionally lucrative career field seem slim and the last thing I want to do is to spend all of the time and money that it takes to go to school for a career field only to find out that I can’t get hired or licensed because of my criminal record or background check.
Another option would be to work for myself. Start my own business. Make my own job and control my own future. The problem here is that I don’t really have any marketable skill or talent. (although I am definitely ready, willing and able to go to school to learn a skill or trade if it will help me.)
I was thinking about real estate also. But I was told that the soliciting a prostitute would most likely prevent me from obtaining a real estate license and/or getting a job at a real estate agency when it shows up in my background check.
I am still employed for the remainder of my contract but even if I am a stellar employee for the next 4 years I will be unemployed in about 4 years. I can save about $ 1000 dollars a month if I buckle down for 4 years or a little over $ 40,000.
I am also willing to go back to school for a master’s degree for any field. (i’m not that good at math or science so the computer, chemistry, medical, accounting, and engineering fields aren’t really options for me.)
I have been checking for business opportunities but all of the ones I come across either require marketable skills that I don’t possess (tattoo artist etc…), large amounts of startup capital (I only have about 8,000 dollars in my savings account) or they are too good to be true and seem like scams (99% of the “work from home” websites and “pyramid/MLM” type opportunities). I am just looking for an honest business that I can learn to do and build upon through hard work and perseverance.
Here are my questions in a nutshell:
1: What is a good career field for me to study for or get into in which my criminal background will not be a factor.
2: Can I get into the real estate industry with my background? Will my misdemeanor offense bar me from licenture or prevent me from being hired?
3: Ideally I want to work for myself. I am a hard worker and I’m not looking for a “get rich quick” scheme… Are there any honest business opportunities that I can pursue that don’t require a large amount of money to start with?
I have approximately 4 years to prepare: can anyone help point me in the right direction?

No it is a not a form of idol worship but you brought to mind the weeping of Christ over Jerusalem and that makes one wonder if there is relevance to the peace in that war-torn part of the world.

Question by Bellboy [rides trains]: Do you believe in the mindset, “I didn’t know him, so it shouldn’t affect me”?
A music teacher who worked at my school died right outside my school today. He was a nice man, a good clarinetist, and a fun person, and I’m really affected by his death, because he taught me and my sister throughout our times at the school, and I knew him personally, and I’m in a lot of pain, right now. However, a lot of people at my school seem to think that since they didn’t know who he was — the music department is going under fast, and it’s the most unpopular of the classes — that they shouldn’t be upset by the situation. I don’t expect those people to cry, at all. I just feel they should at least think about him, and acknowledge that he is, in fact, gone. I go to a small school, and it’s hard to ignore something like that, and it just seems disgusting to me that people don’t even seem to care about it. Do you agree with this mindset? Am I right to feel completely disgusted by people who think like that?

For some people, it doesn’t affect them and that’s understandable. It depends on the person, and how they handle grief and loss. Yes, people should show the necessary respect in these type of situations, but everyone is different. A kid at my school died and I only had met him once. It affected me, but again, nobody one is the same.

That are easy to get into you don’t have to have money to get into and don’t involve a bunch of loopholes to get paid. Eg photocopy off this ad and send it to small newspapers and pay for ad and photocopy this page and sent to people who reply I’m not interested in that kind of stuff. Stuff like web design or something similar that actually pays I really want to work from home and have no extra cash to fork out to buy into some “MLM” online type deal.

Question by JoeRonimus: Ladies- am I close on this one regarding a “woman’s mindset”…?
aight so this isnt so much of a direct question as much as me wanting to hear ur girls thoughts on this…
so Im a 25 year old man, and I know I have some physical “dissapointments”, im going very bald, i do not tan, and if i really wanna be critical of myself- my teeth are too damn small and spaced out. Honestly tho I know Im still very cute tho as a man. Now when Im not wearin a hat and Im out with my friends, and we are around chicks, I kinda feel like some girls expect for me to be inferior. Once I start talking, and using eye contact and all that, it almost seems to me that these girls are somewhat “takin back” and do not know how to deal with me. Some days when I wake up in a good mood I like to leave the hat home just so I can try to have these kind of situations happen. I almost get off knowing that my projected confidence can change a girls thoughts on the “norm”. Its seems to thro girls off and leave them unsure of what to think of me, and SOMETIMES they even seem to get a little angry. Another thing is my friends, they bust my balls all the time about my baldness but once the girls come around it looks like the only people really concerned about my baldness was them guys- dorks. Its like there tryin to make themselves feel better. Yes I am going to get the restoration surgery FOR MYSELF when i can afford it but untill then I gotta live rite… And i get it DONE in the bedroom whenever i get the chance and Im not inferior. So girls- am I nuts in my thinking and should chill out or can u see what im saying. Might you treat a balding guy a lil different and then be shocked by his confidence. Can u definitly see where Im coming from. I mean look how many girls wanna sleep with Tony Soprano—– no pity answers, im a big boy, say what u want to say…
yea i see wait ur saying about vain-ness or intimidation, I try not to come off like that- Im always polite, ALWAYS, I gotta say tho, thinking that I may be facing an up-hill battle with girls at first meet, I may be over-confident at times but that cant be that bad—- Hey douglas when a post asks for a Ladies oppinion, as much as u may love wearing thongs under ur jeans all day- I aint talkin to you
